3 Pillars of Healthy Homes

Pillar 1: Moisture Control

The #1 cause of health problems from buildings is mold. Mold is a direct byproduct of moisture + organic matter (something for the mold to eat.) The first step to taking back the health of any building is to get the moisture levels down to 50% relative humidity. Basements may need dewater, leaks fixed and dehumidifiers turned on or lower. We will test all the rooms in your home for moisture content in the air as well as in the walls.

Pillar 2: Air Quality

If your breathing polluted air, your health is undoubtedly being damaged. Air quality takes into account all of the pollutants in your air as well as the levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide present. Pollutants includes VOCs, hormone disrupting chemicals, cancer causing chemicals, particles (pm 2.5 & pm 10.) To remedy poor air quality, air filters, ventilation and the removal of toxic materials is often needed.

Pillar 3: Water Quality

Fixing water quality does not mean installing a cheap water filtration system on and calling it good. Water must be tested to see what toxins are in it. Some well water is already quite healthy, however most city water is high in chlorine and heavy metals that aren’t good for you. Some houses also contain toxic pipes including lead and PVC that can contribute to many health problems.

What Toxins Are You Living With?

You spend on average 18 hours per day in your home.

Studies show that 70% of American homes contain mold and the average amount of pollutants in your air is 5X higher than the air outside.

This is last frontier of health care.

Find Out If Your Home Contains Mold Or Other Toxins

Service 1

Mold Inspections & Testing

Mold is in 70% of American houses. It can be all around you but you likely can’t see it. It hides behind drywall, in attics and under flooring. Proper testing is the only way to know for sure. Testing is done through air sampling, swabbing surfaces as well as visual inspection.

Service 2

Radon Testing

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes up from the earth. It’s worst in the midwest and is the the #2 leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Radon should be monitored continuously over time. To test your home for radon, our technicians will install radon meters in the lowest level of your house and teach you how to monitor them.

Service 3

Air Quality & Toxin Testing

On average indoor air quality has 5X more pollutants in it than outdoor air. From VOCs to formaldehyde to PM 2.5, both old and new houses rarely have good air quality. With modern technology we have the ability to test your indoor air and suggest solutions to reduce airborne particles and toxins.
